John C Sweet who also writes under the pen name beingjohnsweet lives in Dallas Georgia. John has been writing poetry, short stories since his early teens. Husband to Christie Sweet and father of three beautiful children!

This blog will be dedicated to the transformation of the traditional modern family; to help other families learn how to build self-sustaining households to preserve traditions while saving the world and to most importantly instill life-long habits for the children of the Sweet home and your own households.

An environmentally conscious family is more than recycling, its about changing the behavior of everyday living. To become more aware of the earth we live in while becoming more connected to her. We live in a fast paced technology driven world where the disconnect between humans and the earth is glaringly evident, with awareness our behavior will surely change as a result. We hope that by visiting this blog you become more aware of your surroundings, your connection with the planet and your family. This world is abundant and has more than enough resources for us to survive, but we must make smarter choices.

More about John Sweet: As a former practicing Buddhist and now Christian you will find John’s poetry to be very spiritual and enlightening, The never ending love and strength of both Jesus and the Buddha permeate his works, John feels deeply that he has been called to be a layman spiritual teacher to anyone who seeks to learn about Christianity.

John is also a recovered alcoholic and drug addict. 7 years sober John is living proof and can attest to the fact that life is full of hope and happiness once one can shed the chains of addiction. Within his works you will experience many of the trials one is faced with starting over in life at the age of 30, 41 years old today John writes for healing, growth, enlightenment, and a personal form of therapy. Many have said Johns works to read like scripture.

His writing influences include, but not limited to; the beat generation; Jack Kerouac, Alan Ginsberg, and Charles Bukowski, transcendentalists; Walt Whitman, Thoreau. Lastly you will find influences of Kahil Gibran, a master poet and philosopher in John’s eyes. John weaves many aspects of the greats into his own unique form of poetry, fresh, inspiring, eclectic and shocking at times.

John’s latest venture and passion is the writing of lyrics. His first song titled: Cold Blood was performed by the Indie band: Affirming the Consequent, a sweeping song that takes the listener far away and right into John’s world. The next project on the horizon is mastery of lyrical poetry in the hopes of being recognized as a serious force in the music industry.

Host of WSN Radio, one of the top radio shows on BlogTalkRadio inspired many writers and afforded them the opportunity to reach a global audience, bringing the art of poetry to the forefront of the mainstream media, with over 50 shows aired garnering over 500,000 listeners around the world.
